SHELBYVILLE — Avery Morris had eight of the Ladycats’ 17 aces on the night as Beckville swept Shelbyville 3-0 Tuesday in District 20-2A action.

No. 2 Beckville won 25-4, 25-5, 25-6 to improve to 21-2 for the season and 5-0 in district action.

The Ladycats had a home match against Garrison scheduled for Friday.

Morris also had four kills and six digs as the Ladycats finished off the home team quickly.

Kinsley Rivers had nine kills, six digs and two aces, while Sophie Elliott had 19 assists, 1 dig and two aces; and M.J. Weatherford had five kills and three blocks.

Allison Baker had 11 assists, three kills one dig and one ace; Amber Harris had two kills, eight digs, one block and four aces.

Macy Davis had two kills and two blocks; Kaylee Fletcher had three kills and a dig; and Lindsey Baker had two kills.

Lady Bobcats storm back

GARY — The Gary Lady Bobcats dropped their first set, but stormed back to win the next three as they beat San Augustine 3-1 Tuesday in district play

Gary improved to 13-4 overall and 4-1 in District 20-2A with the 14-25, 25-13, 28-26, 25-19 win. They are a game behind Beckville.

The Lady Bobcats fell out of the state rankings after losing to No. 2 Beckville last week.

They were scheduled to take on Shelbyville on Friday.
