Panola College overcame a two set to one deficit to comeback and defeat host Lee College 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 25-15, 15-12 on Tuesday in Baytown.
Tamara Chavez led the way collected a double-double and pushed the Fillies offense past Lee College Chavez led with 20 kills while also gathering 16 digs, four blocks and three aces.
Izabely Benjamin added 18 kills, while hitting a .279 attack percentage. Andressa Soares chipped in with 17 digs, eight kills and two aces on the five-set match.
Vitoria Mattos had a career-high of 43 assists and 12 digs, collecting double-double. Mattos also served six aces on the night against the Lady Rebels.
Defensive specialist Erin collected 27 digs and dished out nine assists for the Fillies.
Cassidy Cole added four kills and Kristen Stewart added seven digs for Panola.
After playing in the Centex Invitational this weekend, Panola will return to action on Monday for a conference matchup against No. 16-ranked Trinity Valley. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start.
The Gary volleyball team fell in straight sets to visiting Central Heights 25-17, 25-7, 25-16 on Tuesday. Carlee Linebarger and Trinity Baker both had three kills with Linebarger adding seven digs and four blocks while Baker had five digs and seven blocks in the loss.
Aubrey Kennedy, Danielle Harrison and Abigail Johnson each had a kill with Kennedy adding three assists, Johnson adding four digs and Harrison three blocks.
Gary (6-12) will look to snap a four-match losing streak when the Lady Bobcats host Hughes Springs on Tuesday.
USC running back Keaontay Ingram rushed for a game-high 88 yards on 15 carries in the Trojans’ 30-7 victory over visiting San Jose State last Saturday.
Ingram, a Carthage High School alum, transferred to USC after three years playing at the University of Texas.
