HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas — The Panola County Elite 6U softball team picked up three wins and get a first-round bye in bracket play at the FASA 6U World Series at Hamilton Park.

The Elite, won the district tournament, then finished second in the state in Marshall to qualify for the national tournament.

In qualifying play, the Elite beat the Pink Titans from Mount Vernon; beat the JGA Royals from Viola, Arkansas 17-6; and got a 15-7 win over the Shotcallers from Atlanta.

After the first-round bye, the Elite play the winner of the Royals and Titans at 11:45 a.m.

No results from any of Friday’s games were available at press time.

A win will put them in the semifinals against the winner of the Hallsville-North Arkansas Unicorns game at 3:30.

The championship game is set for 7:15 Friday. The “if necessary” game is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Should the Elite lose their first game, they will move down to the bottom of the bracket to face the loser of Hallsville and the Unicorns,

They would have to win three games to reach the “if necessary.”
