The Panola College Fillies will hold volleyball camps for two different ages groups on June 17-19 at the Arthur Jefferson Gymnasium on he Panola campus.

The Mini Fillies Camp is for girls ages third though the fifth grades. The camp will be from 9-11:30 a.m. and the cost is $60 per camper.

The Advanced Skills Camp is from grades sixth through 12th. The camp sessions will be from 1-5 p.m. and the cost is $115 per camper.

Nicole Thorn is the new head coach for the Fillies, taking over for her sister Amber McCray, who left Panola to take over the program at D-1 Louisiana Tech after compiling a record of 165-49.

Thorn, a coaching Hall pf Famer at the University of Florida, has spent the last six seasons as the head coach at White Oak High School.


The Panola College basketball team will hold both a day camp and an overnight camp for girls want to improve their hoop skills from June 24-28.

The camp is for girls ages second through 12th grade from 8 a,m, to 5 p.m. daily and the cost is $150 per camper.

Overnight campers will have other activities and will cost $250 per camper.

The Mini Fillies Camp is for girls in grades third though fifth. It will be from 9-11:30 a.m. daily at Panola's Arthur Johnson Gymnasium.

The cost is $60 per camper.

There also will be an Advanced Skills Camp from June 17-19 from 1-5 p.m. at Johnson Gym.

The cost for the skills camp is $115 per camper.

The camp is under new Panola head coach Nicole Thorn, who is a former All-American at Florida and has spent the past six seasons coaching at White Oak High School. 

She replaced her sister, Amber McCray, at Panola. McCray left to take over the team at Louisiana Tech after posting a 165-49 record with the Fillies.
