GILMER — Faith Kruebbe and Kristen Stewart both had double-doubles Friday and the Lady Bulldogs continued to roll on as they whipped the Gilmer Lady Buckeyes 3-1 in a non-district match.

Kruebbe had 16 kills and 10 digs, while Stewart had 31 assists and 10 digs in the 25-14, 20-25, 25-13, 25-17 win that moved Carthage from No. 7 to No. 5 in the poll.

Stewart also had four kills and two aces, while Kruebbe had five aces and two blocks.

Cami Hicks also had six kills, two blocks and an ace; McKenna Zett had 13 digs and six kills; Chesney Baker had 13 digs and an ace; Addi Surratt had 10 digs and Makhai Lewis and Sadie Smith both had three blocks.

The Lady Dawgs (28-4, 1-0) will travel to Center Tuesday to resume District 20-4A action.

Beckville remains perfect in district

SAN AUGUSTINE — Beckville went on the road, but had little trouble, sweeping San Augustine 25-7, 25-8, 25-5 Friday in district play.

With the win, the No. 12 Ladycats are now 23-13 for the season and a perfect 4-0 in District 20-2A. They are at home against Garrison on Tuesday.

Allison Baker and Sophie Elliott led Beckville with 13 assists each. Baker also had three kills, two aces, two digs and two blocks, while Elliott added two aces.

Miranda Mize had nine kills, three aces, a dig and a kill; Kinsley Rivers had five kills, three digs and two aces; Avery Morris had three kills and three digs, two aces and two assists; and Lindsey Baker had four kills.

Lady Bobcats sweep Garrison in 20-2A

GARY — The Lady Bobcats came within a game over evening their record for the year Friday when they swept a district match with Garrison.

Gary won 25-10, 25-18, 25-20 to improve to 12-13 for the season.

More importantly, at 3-1 in District 20-2A they are just a game behind No. 12 Beckville in secondplace.

The Lady Bobcats are at Timpson on Tuesday..
