Carthage High School shortstop Dylan Leach continues to add to his postseason honors as he was a first-team All-East Texas selection.

He heads up a group of 10 area baseball players on the honor squad and 13 area softball players named to the team.

Leach hit .472 with six home runs, 10 doubles and five triples. He drove in 45 runs, scored 35 and stole 13 bases.

Teammate Seth Davis, a senior pitcher, was a second team selection as he was 9-1 with an ERA of 2.13 with 92 strikeouts and 34 walks in 62.1 innings.

Honorable mention picks were senior catcher Gunner Capps, junior pitcher Jackson Blissett; senior outfielder Mackenson Bobo; and junior outfielder Mason Bobo.

The Elysian Fields’ Yellowjackets had four pick in 3A — Jackson Illingworth; Landon Swank, Ryan Williams and Cole Ellis.

Neither Beckville or Gary had a player selected to the team.

In softball, the Carthage Lady Bulldogs were well represented with two first-teamers and two on the second team and four were honorable mention picks. Beckville had two first teamers and two honorable mention picks. Elysian Fields had one honorable mention selection.

Leading the way on the team for Carthage are senior pitcher Taylor Wills and senior second baseman Addison Blissett.

Beckville was represented on the first team by junor pitcher Ally LaGrone and senior first baseman Shelley Pierce.

On the second team from Carthage were sophomore third baseman Roo Harrison and sophomore outfielder Kayman Courtney.

On the honorable mention team from Carthage is Kalli Cuff, Karsyn Isbell, Madison Reynolds; and Ashton Jones.

Madisyn Bridges and Kinley Pepper are Beckville’s honorable mention selections and Kayla Evans was the honorable mention selection for Elysian Fields.

Also, Carthage’s Addison Blissett, Cuff and manager Savanna Gwinn were all on the Class 4A Academic All-State team.
