HUNTSVILLE — The Carthage Lady Bulldogs had three runners at the UIL Lady Bulldogs had three Region III-4A Cross Country Meet on Monday, not just one as originally reported in Wednesday’s edition of the Panola Watchman.

In addition, the Gary Bobcats ran as a team in the Region III-2A Meet, where they finished 21st with 501 points.

Both meets were held at Kate Barr-Ross Park.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Sindy Salazar was the first local athlete to finish the two-mile course in 13:45.7, good enough for 42nd place.

As reported earlier, senior Zee McGrue finished 44th.

The other Carthage runner was Kip Travis, who finished 60th in 14:04.9.

Leading the way for the Gary Bobcats was Holden Robinson 74th place (20:27.3), while Bryton Allain was 85th (20:41.3), Konnor Pace was 120th (21:44.0), Aaron Yelverton was 146th (24:11.4) and Aiden Arwine was 148th (24:25.4).

The UIL State Cross Country Meet is scheduled for Nov. 9 in Settler’s Park in Round Rock.

The Carthage boys team qualified with a fourth-place finish on Monday and Carlee Linebarger of Gary finished third to qualify.
