Beckville junior J’Koby Williams was named the District 23-2A Defensive Player of the Year and sophomore JT Smith was named Newcomer of the Year as voted on by the head coaches of the district this past week.
Freshman Jorden Prince and junior Jakelvin Smith were named first-team team all-district, while senior Jayden Mojica was named second-team all-district.
Austin Berry, Bo Hammons and Tyson Oden were named to the honorable mention team.
Calan Castles, Mojica, Berry, Oden and JT Smith were named to the academic all-district team.
Gary
Gary sophomore Mason Powell garnered first-team all-District 23-2A honors and senior Thomas Flowers was named second-team all-district.
Corbin Arwine, Mason Smith, Austin Deas and David Stephens were named to the honorable mention.
Koby Bell, Evan Chamness, along with Arwine, Deas, Flowers, Powell, Smith and Stephens, were all named to the academic all-district team.
Carthage
Carthage senior K.D. Bell was named to the District 17-4A first-team and fellow seniors Viencint Cabada and Will McDaniel garnered second-team honors.
Cason Bishop, Mikel Fields, Jaden Washington and Jay Alexander were named to the honorable mention team.
Bell, Cabada, McDaniel and Bishop were named to the academic all-district team.
Gary Girls
Juniors Makayla Woodfin and Aubrey Kennedy were named to the District 23-2A second-team all-district team.
Halyn Tullos and Abigail Johnson were named to the honorable mention team.
Kyla McDonald, Cheyenne Woodfin, Sophie Hughes, Ava Maloy, Emma Newman, Mechelle McCumber, along with Makayla Woodfin, Kennedy and Johnson, were all named to the academic all-district team.
