Carthage junior Connor Cuff was named District 17-4A Offensive Most Valuable Player as voted on by the coaches in the district, it was announced this week.

The Bulldogs had four players named to the first-team all-district team in senior pitchers Braeden Wade and Javarian Roquemore along with junior second baseman Noah Paddie and junior first baseman Brooks Brewster.

Junior catcher Todd Register was named second-team all-district.

Ty Chambers (outfield), Jakerrian Roquemore (outfield), Braden Smith (third base) and Dillon Davenport (utility) were named to the honorable mention team.

The Bulldogs finished in second place in 17-4A with an 8-2 record one game behind champion Rusk who went 9-1.

Carthage had the longest postseason run among the 17-4A teams, making it all the way to the 4A Region III finals and even knocking off district foe Hudson in the quarterfinals.
