Carthage’s 2020 senior Cami Hicks has verbally committed to attend Lamar University in Beaumont and play Division I volleyball for the Cardinals.
Her plans are to major in education with a minor in kinesiology.
Her freshman year, she played rightside and did not see action her sophomore year due to an Achilles tear.
Hicks’ junior year was filled with several offers from other colleges and universities. Under the leadership of Coach Dawn Stewart, she definitely made her presence known at the net with 185 kills and 58 blocks.
As middle blocker, she was named, “East Texas Player of the Week,” “Semper Fidelis Player of the Match,” ETBU All-Tournament, “Player of the Game,” in the second round of the playoffs, “District’s MVP.” “Academic All-District,” “Junior Class Favorite,” and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
She is currently in the top 10% of her junior class and takes dual credit and regular college classes at Panola College.
Her parents are Rev. A. Leon and Dazell Hicks.
