KYLE — Miller Harris of Carthage High School shot a 2-over par 73 and is tied for third after Monday’s first round of the UIL Class 4A State Boys Golf Tournament at the Plum Creek Golf Course.

Playing as a medalist, Miller is two shots behind Jack Polke of Little Cypress-Mauriceville, which is 12th in the team standings.

James Perry of Salado is second with a 72 and Bond Heflin of Monahans is tied with Miler at 73.

There are three others a shot back at 74, three tied at 75 and four tied at 76.

Monahans leads the team standings with a 307, followed by Gatesville at 323; Andrews with a 326; Melissa and Argyle with 329; and Liberty Hill with a 339

Second-day action is set for Tuesday.
