BRENHAM — The Panola College Fillies dug themselves an early hole that they never could climb out of Saturday, falling to Blinn College 64-59 on the road.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Fillies, who drop to 10-10 for the season and 6-4 in Region XIV action,

Panola College is at home for a 5:30 p.m. ballgame Wednesday against Paris Junior College.

Blinn jumped out an an 18-11 lead after one period and led 32-25 at the half.

The Buccaneers added to their lead in the third quarter, going up 46-35.

The Fillies outscored the home team 24-18 in the final period to cut into the deficit, but not enough.

Kellymar Ramirez had 14 points and five rebounds off the bench to lead the fillies, while Shonnyvelle Regalado had 11 and Destini Whitehead had 10 points.

Leading scorer Daryna Bacharova only had eight and Barbar Zieniewska only had seven.
