A little home cooking appears to be just what the Panola College Fillies needed as they crushed visiting East Teas Baptist JV 97-24 Monday night.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Fillies (3-4), who will play in the Trinity Valley Classic in Athens on Friday and Saturday.

The game was basically over after the first quarter as the Fillies outscored the visitors 32-1 over the first eight minutes to take a big lead.

They upped it to 55-10 at the half and then outscored the JV 42-14 in the second half.

Alicja Falkowska led Panola with 21 points, followed by Kellymar Ramirez had 16, Daryna Bacharova and Shonnyvelle Regalado both had 13 and Nyidier Riak had 12.

Gilmer runs away from Carthage

The Carthage Lady Bulldogs had big scoring troubles in the second quarter they couldn’t overcome as they dropped a 66-42 decision to the Gilmer Lady Buckeyes Monday night.

The Lady Dawgs have dropped two straight to fall to 4-3 for the season. They are at Dangerfield next Tuesday.

Carthage led 19-15 after one quarter, but that all went by the wayside in the second period as they were outscored 14-2 and trailed 29-21 at the half.

Gilmer outscored the Lady Dawgs 37-21 in second half to win going away.

Zee McGrue led Carthage with a 26-point effort.
