Tatum junior Trinity Edwards earned Most Valuable Player honors, and Harleton, Elysian Fields and Waskom were also represented on the superlatives list with the release of the District 16-3A All-District Basketball Team for 2020-21.

Edwards averaged 15 points, five rebounds, six steals and four assists for Tatum.

Other top honors went to Harleton’s Paiton Little and Elysian Fields’ Christen Smith (Offensive MVP), Tatum’s Kayla Jones (Defensive MVP), Waskom’s Nattiea Chatman (Newcomer of the Year) and Tatum’s Patricia Nelson (Coach of the Year).

Selections were made by the district’s coaches.

Tatum: Summer Dancy-Vasquez; Emma Wiley; Waskom: Malayiah Fields, Makayla Jeter; Harleton: Amber Hitt, Katie Holliday; West Rusk: Faith Cochran, Opaulina Mata; Jefferson: Tierrani Johnson, Kristen Thomas; Arp: Abigail Nichols; Troup: Sarah Neel, Bailey Blanton, Maddy Griffen.

Honorable Mention

Harleton: Meredith Seller, Remington Stinebaugh; Elysian Fields: Kerrigan Love, Kyleigh Griffin; Troup: Karsyn Williamson, Chloe Haugheber; Arp: Kyleigh Pawlik; West Rusk: Raven Pryor.
