Carthage High School head baseball coach, along with his staff and players, will host the 2019 Bulldogs Summer Baseball Camp June 24-25 at Jim Reeves Memorial Field.

The camp is for players aged 6-14 and the cost is $60 per camper or $50 if they pre-register. You can pre-register at the CHS Field House from June 17-20. All checks should be made payable to “CHS Baseball.”

The camp will be from 9-noon each day with registration at 8:30 a.m..

Campers need bring their own glove, bat, hat, cleats and pants/shorts.

The camp will feature all phases of the game including: offensive and defensive drill work; baserunning; position specific drill work; pitching mechanics; and more.

In case of inclement weather, the camp will be moved inside in the CHS Indoor facility.

Coach Goodwin is finishing his fourth season leading the Bulldogs. In those four years the team has been district champions three of those seasons, compiling a district record of 40-8 and an overall record of 82-36-1.

This year’s team was ranked in the top 10 for much of the season, posting a 27-7-1 record while winning the district title and advancing to the regional semifinal before falling to state finalist Sweeny.

Goodwin also spent three years as a CHS assistant; a year at Liberty as a head coach; two seasons as a hitting and infield coach at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa; and two years as an assistant at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
