LONGVIEW Memorial services for Mr. Roger Leslie, 70, of Longview, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. His ashes will be laid to rest in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Roger Dale Leslie was born October 7, 1950 in Carthage, Texas. He passed this life July 16, 2021 in Longview, Texas. He was one of five children born to the marriage of Owen Curtis Leslie and Hattie Marie Minter Leslie. He was raised and schooled in Carthage, Texas.
Mr. Leslie began his career in the oil and gas industry as a welder retiring 50 years later as a pipeline inspector. During his career he was blessed to travel around the world making lifelong friends along the way. He will be remembered for his love for life and infectious sense of humor. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and golf but making friends was his gift. Roger is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judy Anderson and Linda Minturn; and a brother, Curtis Ray Leslie.
Mr. Leslie is survived by his loving wife, Helen Leslie of Longview; daughters, Lisa Miller and husband Jason of Vermont, and Rhonda Williams and husband Steve of Carthage; step son, Kevin Wright of Austin; brother, Rickey Leslie and wife Melinda of Lake Cherokee; grandchildren, Chelsea Copelin and husband Cameron of Carthage, Madison Rue and husband Ryan of Bedford, Morgan Rives of Euless, and Ashley Rives of Vermont; great granddaughter, Ryleigh Pittman; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of livelong friends.
