CARTHAGE-Graveside services for Mrs. Lucille Still Pelham, 88, of Beckville, Texas will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Harris Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Keith Weaver officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation with the family was from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Pelham passed away January 18, 2018 at her home in Beckville.
Mrs. Lucille Still Pelham was born January 7, 1930 in Kilgore, Texas to Carrel and Ellen Birdsong Still. She was raised and schooled in Kilgore and graduated from Kilgore High School with the class of 1948. Lucille married Henry Frank Pelham on June 5, 1948 and together they celebrated 43 years until he preceded her in death on August 25, 1991. She was a homemaker, member of the Good Time Quilters and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Lucille loved sewing, quilting, knitting and working with her hands.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charles Edward Still.
Mrs. Pelham is survived by her children, James Carrel Pelham of Kilgore, Georgia Lynn Pelham Turner and husband Glenn of Marshall, Julie Diane Pelham Crawford and husband Melvin of Beckville; grandchildren, Denise Crawford Whisenhunt and husband Eric of Beckville, Chris Finklea of Marshall, Melissa Crawford Fleet and husband Steven of Marshall, Angela Pelham Payne and husband Mike of Kilgore, Charity Pelham Kelly and husband Jimmy of Overton, Cody Jay Crawford and wife Kacie of Beckville; great-grandchildren, Jason Brown and wife Hootie, Amber Whisenhunt, Ryan Whisenhunt, Matt Brown, Garnet Payne, Jimmy Kelly III, Jayde Kelly, Kimber McKay Crawford; great-great-grandchild, Karlyn Jay Brown; best friend, Mary Evelyn Kelly; good friend, James Cox; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
