CARTHAGE-Funeral services for Mr. Carl Kenneth Davis, 91, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Macedonia Cemetery with under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at Hawthorn's.
Mr. Carl Kenneth Davis was born January 2, 1927 in Bettie, Texas and passed away January 25, 2018 in Tyler, Texas. He was the oldest of seven children born to the marriage of Jack and Linnie Lansdale Davis. He was raised and schooled in Karnack with the class of 1944, and left to serve his country through the U. S. Army. Mr. Davis married Marie Rose Nguyen and they celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Mr. Davis owned and operated the Davis Texaco and would later own and operate the Silver Spur. He was an avid bowler, golfer, loved bluegrass music and picking his guitar. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred Davis and Terry Keith Davis and sister, Jacqueline Meek.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Marie Rose Davis of Carthage; children, Albert Davis of Richardson, Jackie LaFollette and husband, Collin of Richardson, Frances Reynolds of Carthage, Trisha Seegers and husband, Gary of Carthage, Susie Davis and fiance`, Dale Morgan of The Hills; brother, David Davis and wife, Julia of Carrollton; sisters, Clementine Lawhorn of Carthage, and Sharon McIlwain and husband, Jack of Carthage; grandchildren, Sarah Hill and husband, Gentry of Carthage, Caitlan Davis of Thailand, Hanna Davis of Little Rock, AR, Bayleigh Reynolds of Carthage, Blake Seegers and Brandon Seegers both of Carthage; great-grandchild, Taylor Hill of Carthage, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Collin LaFollette, Gary Seegers, Gentry Hill, Dale Morgan, Raymond Thomas, David McIlwain, Jack McIlwain and Dr. Dennis Golden.
