Two people have been indicted in separate instances where officials say they intentionally hit someone with a motor vehicle.

A grand jury has indicted David Ray McKnight, of Carthage, and Martinette Lashai Capers, of Keithville, Louisiana on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the Panola County District Clerk’s Office said.

McKnight is accused of using a vehicle to strike another man on Sept. 14. Capers is accused of using her car to hit a man on Aug. 30.

A Panola County grand jury returned at least 17 indictments at the end of its September term. Indictments returned were:

  • Jennifer Lynn Moore, of Bryan, for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one measuring between four and 200 grams, stemming from an Oct. 31, 2018 incident
  • Bobby Ray Williams, of Shreveport, for theft of material aluminum/bronze/copper/brass worth less than $20,000, stemming from a Sept. 9 incident
  • Clifford Earl Williams, of Bethany, for theft of material aluminum/bronze/copper/brass worth less than $20,000, stemming from a Sept. 9 incident
  • Timothy Lyle Carr Jr., of DeBerry, for indecency with a child sexual contact, stemming from a Sept. 3 incident
  • Timothy Lyle Carr Jr., of DeBerry, for indecency with a child exposes, stemming from a Sept. 3 incident
  • Timothy Lyle Carr Jr., of DeBerry, for aggravated sexual assault, stemming from a Sept. 3 incident
  • Warren Devon Castleberry Jr., of Carthage, for tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, stemming from an Aug. 22 incident
  • Michael Shane Kelly Jr., of Carthage, for criminal mischief worth less than $2,500 ls/game animal fence, stemming from a Sept. 6 incidentk
  • Cody James West, of Carthage, for burglary of habitation, stemming from a Sept. 10 incident
  • Terrence Lee Ingram, of Gladewater, for assault of a family/household member impeding breath/circulation, stemming from an Oct. 25 incident

Stevie Reno Hooker Jr., of Beckville, for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, stemming from a June 30 incident

  • Drake Anthony Dodson, of DeBerry, for two counts of burglary of habitation, stemming from incidents on May 24 and June 25
  • James Kapaakea Jinks, of Beckville, for two counts of evading arrest detention with a vehicle, stemming from incidents on Sept. 1 and Sept. 8
