The Master’s Blend in Carthage held a grand reopening at their location on Monday, with the Panola County Chamber of Commerce holding a ribbon cutting.
The coffee shop closed for renovations at the beginning of May and reopened with a drive-thru, new menu items and extended hours. The shop first opened in 2013.
Owner Dayna Milam said they have great new items for breakfast, including some Keto-friendly items. They’re going to be adding more items to the menu over the next couple of weeks as well.
“Come by in the next couple of weeks, because we’re gonna let y’all taste these new things before we actually put them on the menu to see what people like and what they don’t like, so we want a lot of interaction from the community to come in and tell us,” Milam said.
The Master’s Blend is keeping its regular 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours Monday through Thursday, but they’re extending those hours to 8 p.m. on Fridays as well as opening from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
The new drive-thru has been a big hit, Milam said.
“It’s doing well, very busy, it has taken us a little bit to get, with all new people, to get to be able to be (as) quick as we want to be, but it’s coming though, we’re finally getting some people trained, and it’s getting a lot easier,” Milam said. “And we’re rolling things out a lot quicker, so that’s the main thing, is wanting to be able to serve quick but still have it fresh.”
Something to note about the drive-thru is if you want to get food outside of breakfast at the drive-thru, you need to call ahead, Milam said.
“You can come through and pick up breakfast and drinks all day long, but if you want food, we need you to call in and then pick it up because it takes us probably 10 to 15 minutes depending on what you order because we fix everything fresh,” she said. “It’ll clog up the window if we don’t call in first. I’m gonna work on an app; I believe there’s an app I can get with my system that works, and I’m looking into that.”
There’s two lines open to call in orders: (903) 693-2244 and (903) 693-2288.
Milam also mentioned that they’re planning to start doing live music again on Friday nights as well as a few different things, some related to art.
“I feel like I’ve got a crew that really kind of has the same vision, and as long as we can keep that and motivation, you can do it,” she said.
The Master’s Blend is located at 1128 W. Panola Street.
