Panola Early College High School has announced its 2018 valedictorian and salutatorian. They are:

Ryan Stone Florence, Valedictorian

Ryan is graduating from Panola Early College High School with a weighted GPA of 4.0 and a grade average of 99.1388.

Ryan is the son of Kenneth and Amy Florence. He is the grandson of Ernest and Judy Lewis from Silsbee.

Ryan recently graduated from Panola College, earning his Associate of Science degree.

While at Panola, he received the Academic Excellence Award for history and chemistry. He was also a member in the History Club, Book Club, Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Pi.

He was also a member of the Robotics Club while attending Panola Early College High School.

He also volunteered at Mission Carthage.

Ryan plans on attending Lamar University this fall and majoring in chemical engineering.

Tucker Ray Merritt, Salutatorian

Tucker is graduating from Panola Early College High School with a weighted GPA of 3.9 and a grade average of 99.1250.

Tucker is the son of Victor and Denise Merritt. He is the grandson of Clara Clark from Carthage, Marveline Hopkins from Carthage and Ray Merritt from Keatchie, Louisiana.

Ryan recently graduated from Panola College earning his Associate of Science degree.

While at Panola, Tucker received the Academic Excellence Award in mathematics and also the National Engaged Leadership Award from Sigma Alpha Pi and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

He was also a member of the Panola College Book Club and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

He was also active in the Robotics Club with attending Panola Early College High School.

Tucker plans on transferring to UT Tyler in the Fall and majoring in mathematics.

He wants to become a math professor.
