Gary ISD participated in Read Across America during the month of March.

To kick off the program, the elementary students celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with The Story Lady. She excited the students with her performance of The Cat in the Hat, interactive games and songs.

During library time, students created artwork from The Lorax and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. The 6th grade and high school student council members volunteered to help Clifford, the Big Red Dog and the book fair which was successful in raising money for books for the district. Mrs. Coligan’s high school culinary class ended the month of celebration by making delicious truffula trees and green eggs and ham for the elementary students.
