The filing period has opened for candidates who wish to run for county offices.
Candidates have until Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. to file to run for office. Primary election day is March 1, when voters in each party will chose their respective candidate to run in the general election in November 2022.
“We have lots of people coming in to sign up, getting ready, asking questions, so we have a lot of people that are going to have opponents,” Elections Administrator Loretta Mason said.

- County Chairs (Republican and Democrat)
- Precinct Chairs (Republican and Democrat)
How do I file?
In order to file to run, contact the county chair of the party you wish to be running in for an application and pay the associated filing fees, which range from $75 to $750 depending on the office.

Important election dates
Filing runs Saturday through Dec. 13. Early voting runs Feb. 14 through 25.
The first day to apply for a mail out ballot is Jan. 1, and the last day is Feb. 18.
Primary election day is March 1.
