Three women from the Gary Community provided handcrafted masks to Gary ISD assist staff and students in being safe and meeting Governor Abbott’s mandate.

Patsy Smith, Debbie Pierce and Vivian Fortenberry pulled materials from their personal quilting stashes to handcraft more than 9,000 masks to share with others. As part of their gifting, the “Three Mask-eteers” provided numerous face coverings for the adults and children at Gary ISD that might have a need. They shared a wide variety of colors, prints, and styles to make sure individuals look fashionable as well as safe.
