A Carthage woman accused of sexually-assaulting a 13-year-old boy has pleaded guilty and been given deferred adjudication for 10 years.

Alexis Lynn Hearnsberger, 29, was charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor under 14.

She pleaded guilty Nov. 9 before 123rd District Judge Leann Kay Raffery.

Hearnsberger was ordered to pay fine and court costs, as well as register as a sex offender for life and receive sex offender counseling. She was also ordered to complete community service hours restitution.

The Panola County Sheriff’s Office said a mother reported Dec. 4, 2019 that she had found a number of sexually-explicit photographs of an adult female, later identified as Hearnsberger, on her son’s cell phone — as well as text messages indicating that the woman and her son had engaged in sexual activity.

“Investigators received consent to search the entire contents of the cell phone and evidence indicated that the suspect and the juvenile had communicated a number of times,” the Panola County Sheriff’s Office said at the time of her arrest.

Interviewers with the Rusk-Panola Children’s Advocacy Center spoke with the boy on Dec. 10, 2019 where he told them he and Hearnsberger had engaged in sexual activity on at least two occasions, the sheriff’s office said.
