Sophie Elliott, Freshman Duchess

Sophie Elliott is the daughter of Terry and Jessica Elliott. Sophie participates in volleyball and basketball. Her proudest accomplishment is making the varsity volleyball team as a freshman. Sophie is a member of First Baptist Church of Carthage. Sophie is escorted by her father and Carlos Campos (14). Carlos is the son of Karina Garcia and Salvador Gomez. Carlos participates in football and is proud to be a member of the varsity team as a freshman. Carlos attends St. Williams Catholic Church.

Karissa McDowell, Freshman Duchess

Karissa McDowell is the daughter of Kacey Wilcots and Norris McDowell. Karissa is currently participating in volleyball and cheerleading. She plans to participate in basketball and track. Karissa’s proudest accomplishments include becoming an All-American cheerleader and being a member of the varsity cheer team. Karissa attends Bethel Baptist Church. Karissa is escorted by her mother and Matthew Barr (3). Matthew is the son of Matt and Brandi Barr. Matthew participates in football, basketball and track. He is proud to be a member of the varsity football team as a freshman. Matthew attends Rock Hill United Methodist Church.

Alex English, Sophomore Duchess

Alex English is the daughter of John and Amy English. Alex has participated in volleyball, basketball and 4-H for two years. She was a member of the track and softball teams for one year. Alex’s proudest accomplishments include being named to the AB Honor Roll and being voted class duchess by her peers. Alex is a member of Beckville United Methodist Church. Alex is escorted by her father and Ryan Harris (9). Ryan is the son of Andrea Hairgrove and Blake Harris. Ryan has participated in football, basketball, baseball and track for two years. He has also been named to the AB Honor Roll. Ryan’s proudest accomplishments include being named second team all-district and honorable mention all-East Texas for his basketball performance; and being an area and regional qualifier in track. Ryan attends Mount Olive Church in Timpson.

Korbyn Jones, Sophomore Duchess

Korbyn Jones is the daughter of Tim and Sheila Jones. Korbyn has participated in volleyball, basketball, track and softball for two years. Korbyn’s proudest accomplishments include being named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, being baptized this year and being voted friendliest student by her peers. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Carthage. Korbyn is escorted by her father and Karter Jones (7). Karter is the son of Tim and Sheila Jones. Karter has participated in football, track and baseball for two years. He is most proud of being recognized on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and being an area and regional qualifier in track. Karter is a member of First Baptist Church of Carthage.

Allison Baker, Junior Duchess

Allison Baker is the daughter of Dann and Shannon Baker. Allison has participated in volleyball for three years and softball for two years. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Allison’s proudest accomplishments are being a member of National Honor Society, the academic all-district volleyball team and the 2018 2A state volleyball championship team. Allison attends Grace Christian Fellowship Church. She is escorted by her grandfather, Ronnie Harris, and Colter Klingler (22). Colter is the son of Henry and Chasity Klingler. Colter has participated in football and baseball for three years. He was a member of the cross country and track team for one year. Colter is a member of the National Honor Society. His proudest accomplishments include being named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and being selected defensive player of the week by Longview News-Journal as a sophomore. Colter attends Grace Christian Fellowship Church.

Gracen Harris, Junior Duchess

Gracen Harris is the daughter of Buddy and Ginger Harris. Gracen has participated in volleyball for three years. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. Gracen’s proudest accomplishments include being a member of the 2018 state championship volleyball team and being ranked second in her class. Gracen is a member of Pine Grove Assembly in Beckville. Gracen is escorted by her father and Evan Allen (6). Evan is the son of Kelly and Jennifer Allen. He has participated in football, baseball, basketball and track for three years. Evan’s proudest accomplishments include being voted captain of the football team by his teammates, being recognized as all-district wide receiver and passing geometry. Evan attends Mobberly Baptist Church.

Miranda Mize, Senior Duchess

Miranda Mize is the daughter of Vernon and Staci Mize. Miranda has participated in volleyball and basketball for four years. She has been a member of the National Honor Society and the track and softball teams for three years. Miranda’s proudest accomplishments include being a member of the 2018 2A state championship volleyball team; playing in the TGCA all-star volleyball game; and qualifying for the regional track meet in the 4x2 relay her junior year. Miranda is a member of First Baptist Church in Carthage. She is escorted by her father and Ross Young (72). Ross is the son of Doug and Jill Young. He has participated in football, track and FFA for four years. He was a member of the basketball team for two years. Ross is most proud of his football accomplishments, including being named second team all-district center as a sophomore and second team all-state center as a junior. Ross is a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Ally LaGrone, Senior and Football Duchess

Ally LaGrone is the daughter of Garrett and Brandi LaGrone. Ally has participated in softball for four years. She has been a member of 4-H and the academic rodeo team for three years. She participated in volleyball and UIL ready writing for one year. Her proudest softball accomplishments include reaching the regional semi-finals and being named pitcher of the year for her junior year performance. She also received the TGCA all-state certificate. Ally is a member of United Pentecostal Church. She is escorted by her father and Landon Dixon (1). Landon is the son of Jeff and Misty McKnight. Landon has participated in football for four years, track for two years and baseball for one year. His proudest accomplishments include being voted football captain by his teammates, being a senior at BHS and escorting his beautiful best friend on the homecoming court.

Madisyn Bridges, Football Duchess

Madisyn Bridges is the daughter of Brad Bridges and Jamie Bridges. Madisyn has participated in twirling, band and cheerleading for four years. She has been a member of the softball team and National Honor Society for three years. Madisyn’s proudest accomplishments include being recruited to feature twirl for the SFA band, receiving a first division rating at UIL state twirling competition for three years and being named all-East Texas honorable mention short stop. She attends Bar None Cowboy Church. Madisyn is escorted by her father and Parker Johns (55). Parker is the son of Ricky and Shona Johns. Parker has participated in football for four years and track for two years. His proudest accomplishments include being on the AB Honor Roll and varsity football team for four years. He is also proud to be his mother’s favorite child. Parker attends Pine Grove Assembly Church.

Sarah Gray, Football Duchess

Sarah Gray is the daughter of Greg and Suzie Gray. Sarah has participated in softball and academic rodeo for four years and academic UIL for one year. Sarah’s proudest softball accomplishments include being a regional semi-final qualifier, being named all-district first team catcher and being the quickest base runner in the district. Sarah attends Bar None Church. Sarah is escorted by her father and Eduardo Campos (8). Eddie has participated in football for four years and track for three years. He is a member of the National Honor Society. Eddie’s most proud of being named all-state kicker for three consecutive years, being on the varsity football team all four years and being a regional qualifier for triple jump. Eddie is a member of St. Williams Catholic Church.

Maegen Powell, Football Duchess

Maegen Powell is the daughter of Dustin Powell and Amanda Powell. Maegen has participated in FFA for four years and volleyball for three years. She was a member of the golf and track teams for two years. Maegen is most proud of her volunteer work including teaching VBS at church this summer. She is also proud of the business skills she’s learned while working during the summer. Maegen attends Still Waters Cowboy Church. Maegen is escorted by her father and Aaron Jones (50). Aaron is the son of Bobby Jones and Mandy Jones. Aaron has participated in football and baseball for four years. He was active in FFA and National Honor Society for two years. Aaron is most proud of being on the varsity football team for four years, being named to the AB Honor Roll and being inducted to the National Honor Society. Aaron attends Bar None Cowboy Church.

Jamia Boykin, Band Duchess

Jamia Boykin is the daughter of Lafol Boykin and Wilbert Ready. Jamia has participated in band for four years, color guard for two years and the National Honor Society for one year. Her proudest accomplishments include being an all-area finalist with her fellow band members and working hard to be successful in high school. Jamia attends Wanted Ministries of Carthage. She is escorted by her stepfather and band member Hudson Ribble. Hudson is the son of Kevin and Ann Ribble. Hudson has been a member of the drum line for four years. He has been a member of the all-region band and track team for three years. Hudson’s proudest accomplishments include participating in the all-region concert band, earning Superintendent’s Honor Roll and joining the National Honor Society. Hudson attends New Life Church in Henderson.

McKenzie Ingram, Band Duchess

McKenzie Ingram is the daughter of Michelle Ingram. McKenzie has been an FFA officer, majorette and member of the band for four years. She has been a National Honor Society member for three years. McKenzie has been a varsity cheerleader for two years. She’s most proud of becoming Beckville FFA chapter president, advancing to UIL state twirling contest and placing in the top ten at UIL cheer competition. McKenzie attends Mount Zion Baptist Church. McKenzie is escorted by her mother and band member Covie Latham. Covie is the son of Chris and Jessica Latham. Covie has been a member of the band for four years and a member of National Honor Society for two years. He participated in cross country for three years, track for two years and baseball for one year. His proudest accomplishments include advancing to area finals at UIL marching contest, performing every week at Mount Zion Baptist Church and earning first chair at the ATSSB all-state jazz ensemble contest. Covie is a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Samantha May, Band Duchess

Samantha May is the daughter of Wayne and Lisa May. Sam has participated in band, color guard and FFA for four years. She has been a member of National Honor Society for two years and theater production for three years. Sam’s proudest accomplishments include receiving sweepstakes in band, becoming color guard co-captain and going to state in FFA ag sales. Sam is a member of Pine Grove Assembly Church. She is escorted by her father and band member Ean Woods. Ean is the son of Jerry and Kimberly Woods. Ean has participated in band, cheerleading and one act play for two years. Ean’s most proud of becoming band drum major, earning top 10 percent of his class and earning a place on the cheer team. He is a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Sydni Pierce, Band Duchess

Sydni Pierce is the daughter of James and Melodnee Pierce. She has been a member of the band for four years and the color guard team for three years. She is most proud of becoming drum major, receiving fourth place in the UIL area marching contest and becoming a family with her fellow band members. Sydni is escorted by her mother and band member Kaden Ridgeway. Kaden is the son of Kyle and Amy Ridgeway and Ciji Simonson. Kaden has participated in band, academic UIL and track for four years. He has been a member of the jazz band for three years and the National Honor Society for two years. Kaden’s most proud of his band accomplishments including achieving all-area band, twice earning sweepstakes and reaching state solo and ensemble. Kaden attends Mount Zion Baptist Church.
