Beckville ISD and Gary ISD both approved their respective superintendents' contracts at Monday meetings.

Beckville ISD conducted Superintendent Devin Tate's superintendent evaluation and extended his contract for one year.

"I'm glad to continue to work at Beckville Schools," Tate said. "I think I had a positive evaluation; I appreciate the support of our board and community."

Gary ISD Superintendent Todd Greer's contract was also extended for a year. Trustees decided to table their final evaluation until their next meeting.

"We are voting on contract," Board President Stacy Cranford said. "We want to continue the evaluation next month as you compile the comments and we compile our comments, where we can actually have something to present to you."

Cranford said they wanted to continue the evaluation so they could discuss issues and have Greer put together recommendations for how he will address them.

"We wanted to put some heart into it and make us sure that we're all on the same page," Cranford said.

Gary trustees also voted to extend Assistant Superintendent Jason Woodfin's contract. Trustee Shane Woodfin abstained from the vote.
