Midlotheon TX- Losing your first game of the season is usually a way for your team to make adjustment, and as they say "Learn Something about your Team". That is hard to do when your first loss is your last game. The Beckville Ladycats entered Fridays Regional final game 41-0 and one win away from their first ever state tournament. Callisburg would kill three birds with one stone. They would end the Ladycats 41 game win streak, their consecutive sets played with out a loss streak, and the Ladycats dream of bringing home a state title.

The Ladycats in Thursdays regional Semifinal would take care of Gunter in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-15). Although they would win it, it was not by a large margin and right fully so. The playoffs at this stage are full of great teams. One would expect the row to hoe to get harder with each game.

In Fridays Regional Final, the Ladycats found their toughest competition of the year. The Lady wildcats came into the contest 40-3. They had defeated New Diana in their previous match (25-18, 25-13, 25-13). Beckville just didn't ever seem to get their game going and where unable to stop the Wildcats attack.

Callisburg was able to maintain control of the game and keep Beckville from ever mounting a come back. The Ladycats were led by Jordan Tondreau who had 12 kills , 4 digs and 1 block. Hannah Humphries would have 9 kills and 4 digs. Courtlyn Nail had 17 digs, Bailey McGuire 6, Kaylee Hull 9 and 1 ace, Allison Baker 3 digs, Kinley Pepper 1 kill, 6 digs, and 31 assists.

Beckville is a team with four Seniors Rylie Seegers, Hannah Humphries, Bailey McGuire, and Kaylee Hull. These four ladies have enjoyed a lot of success under Coach Cherry Downs. With a combined record of 148-18 in their time at Beckville these four Ladies should absolutely be proud of what they have accomplished.

The ladycats will return 6 girls for next years team. They are, JR Kinley Pepper, JR Courtlyn Nail, JR Jordan Tondreau, JR Payton Jones, SO Miranda Mize, and F Allison Baker.

The cupboard is not dry in Beckville. Coach Cherry Downs has proven that over the last six years. The Ladycats will no doubt be disappointed with the final result of this season but they should never be disappointed with the season they put together.
