Carthage Service League holds monthly meeting

The Carthage Service League gathered recently for their monthly meeting at the Sammy Brown Library.
Members enjoyed delicious refreshments and socialization prior to the meeting. President Cherie Gibert called the meeting to order and 34 members answered the roll call. Jo McMillan, secretary, red the minutes from the April meeting. Treasurer Linda Howard gave the financial report and reported on the scholarships awarded by the group. Two resident from the county will receive scholarships to Panola College for two years. Books, tuition and fees are included.
Approximately 600 people use the library each month. Computer usage is heaviest. Receipts at the Thrift Shop continue to escalate and donations are very much appreciated.
The next meeting will be June 13, 2017.
