Bearcats offense flexes muscles in playoff series

Ethan Harris threw a Friday shutout and the Beckville offense banged out 12 hits as the Bearcats defeated Sabine 10-0, 15-5 last weekend .

The Bearcats meet Winnsboro in the next round in a best of three series slated for Pine Tree. Game I will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. and Game II will be played at 7 p.m. Friday.

If a third contest is needed, it will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pine Tree.

Harris allowed just three hits and helped Beckville improve to 21-6.

Beckville ended the day with nine hits. Zach Collins (3), Michael Mize (2), Ty Jones (2), and Ethan Harris (2) each collected multiple hits while Collins and Jones each drove in three runs to lead Beckville.

The Bearcats were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Ben Bridges made the most plays with six.

On Saturday Bryce Osborn drove in four runs to lead Beckville past the team from Gladewater, 15-5.

Beckville opened the Friday scoring on a single by Ben Bridges, a single by Osborn, a single by Ty Jones, a walk by Zeke Collins, and a double by Zach Collins in the first inning.

Beckville collected 12 hits as Bridges, Osborn, Jones, and Trey Lindsay led the way with more than one hit.

Beckville stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Lindsay led the way with three.
