Beckville's woes continue with loss to Cushing 79-48

Union Grove TX (12/01/2017)- The Beckville Bearcat basketball team saw their record fall two 3-2 with a convincing loss to the Cushing Bearkats. Cushing who is 7-1 on the season had early knocked off Avinger earlier in the day 53-45.

The Bearkats of Cushing came out firing on all cylinders and put up 23 points in the first period. Beckville was able to keep pace and only trail by three going into the second period. Cushing was able to separate with a 19 point second period and would lead Beckville 42-33 at the half. Beckville would only score a combined 15 points in the second half and Cushing never took their foot off of the throttle adding 18 in the 3rd and 4Th period.

Beckville would shoot 48% from the Field and out shoot Cushing at the three-point line. The difference in the game seemed to be Cushing going 13-21 from the free throw line and Beckville only getting to shoot 6 free throws the entire game.

Trey Lindsey and Stephen Darden Combined for 20 points and 6 rebounds. CJ Robinson added 9 points with 9 rebounds and points. Taylor Hightower was able to knock down 15 points and had 5 steals. Stephen Darden who lead the Bearcats in scoring during the tournament would be name to the All-Tournament team.

Beckville returns to action at home on Tuesday night at 6:30 against the Troup Tigers (6-1).
