Davis Park

New bathrooms are coming to Davis Park, Carthage city officials said.

The City of Carthage has ordered a new restroom facility for Davis Park.

City Manager Steve Williams said all the city will have to do is prepare the groundwork ahead of delivery, which is expected in a few weeks.

“That restroom will be built and brought in on a semi-truck,’ Williams said. “They’ll bring a crane out and they’ll set it down and hook it up and it’ll be ready to go. It has been ordered. There are things we have to do with some dirt work and some utility work to get ready for that, and we’re in the process of getting that done.”

The Carthage Economic Development Corporation approved spending $100,000 on the bathroom facility at its meeting last week, after a public hearing.

Williams said the bathrooms would be to the left of the splash pad and drainage area at Davis Park. There will be a sidewalk that comes from the main entrance all the way over to the bathroom once it’s installed, he said.
