A special dedication was hosted Saturday for the new Panola County African-American Wall of Fame in the Cook’s Quarters neighborhood of Carthage.
Omowali Lumumba’s project acknowledges the many black Panola County residents who have made positive contributions to the collective betterment and upliftment of Panola County.
Each honoree receives an 11- by 14-inch metal gold star plaque on the wall, which is located at the corner of MLK Boulevard and Cook Street in Carthage. Saturday’s ceremony included adding plaques to the wall.To nominate someone for the wall, call Lumumba at (903) 263-6698.
