A newly-formed Panola County advisory group, formed when the Panola County Community Coalition with the East Texas Council on Alcohol Drug Abuse disbanded, has set its second meeting for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Panola County Chamber of Commerce.
The first meeting took place Sept. 26 at the Panola County Chamber of Commerce and included representatives from UT Health, the U.S. Farm Bureau, local churches and the Sammy Brown Library.
Organizers said areas local concern that were identified for the group to address included diabetes, fitness, men's shelters, housing, vaping, drugs, mental health, transportation, elder care and job and computer skills.
Teams have been selected to gather information about specific focuses and any available grants. Teams will discuss their information at Thursday's meeting. Everyone is welcome to join.
