Elizabeth Morris piano students host spring recital

A spring recital for piano students of Elizabeth Morris was hosted May 19 at First United Methodist Church in Carthage.

Travis Lipsey opened the performances with “Love Somebody (duet)” by Bastein and “Little Bird” by Lynn Freeman Olson, followed by Olivia Lipsey with “On the Ocean Deep” and “Lavender’s Blue,” both by Bastein.

Kaylee Best then performed “Moonlight Mist” by Bastein and “A Million Dreams” by Justin Paul.

Travis Lipsey also performed “Singing Donkey” and “This Old Man,” both by Bastein, while Olivia Lipsey also performed “The Marines Hymn” by Jacques Offenbach and “Kum Ba-Yah” by Bastein.

Kaylee Best ended the recital with “First Sonata Movement 1” by George Anson and “Fur Elise” by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Following the recital, a reception was held in the church parlor.
