Braxton Cox, a DeBerry man and owner of Deadwood Forging Company, will appear on the History Channel show “Forged In Fire” this week.

Cox’s episode will air Wednesday, May 29 at 8 p.m.

Cox recently took a trip to New York City, on what his friends and family thought was a vacation trip to propose to his girlfriend. In actuality, he spent time filming for the popular show.

“Forged In Fire” pits four bladesmiths against each other to make a blade of the judges’ choosing. The prize is $10,000. Cox was offered a spot on the show after a casting producer found his Instagram profile, where he showcases his knives.

“I love being able to draw up a knife and bring it to life,” Cox said.
