Carthage Music Club showcases students at March meeting

Students performed at the Carthage Music Club’s March meeting.

The Carthage Music Club, affiliated with the National and Texas Federation of Music Clubs, held its meeting on Tuesday, March 10 at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.

The program was the Student Showcase, featuring students of Ginger Cook, Marsha McKillop, Joyce Hughes, Dewaine Hubbard, Larry Edge, Elizabeth Morris, Judy Galetar and Tommy Corley. Nicklaus Powell entertained the group with a percussion piece on the marimba. The Beckville High School Percussion Ensemble, taught by Josh King, also performed for the meeting.

The students included pianists Aden King, Caroline Sheffield, Lizette Rodriguez, Grace Ann Parker, Olivia Lipsey, Christian Pepper and Meira Dodda. Voice students included Austin Britt and Nathan Strauss. The Beckville students were Codie Latham, Hudson Ribble, Kayla Casterline and Duncan Coleman.

The audience of members, parents, grandparents and friends enjoyed all the talented students. A reception was served following the concert.
