The Panola County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Joe Roy McMillian, a senior citizen showing early signs of dementia.

McMillian is an 80-year-old black man. He is 5’ 11”, weighs between 160-180 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes, and was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans at the time of his disappearance.

A senior alert was issued by the Texas Silver Alert Network on Tuesday afternoon.

McMillian was last seen at 1:30 p.m. on May 21 at 2119 FM 1970 in Carthage, driving a blue 2004 GMC Sierra, with Texas license plate DMK2975. He left his residence off County Road 302 to run errands and never returned, the Sheriff’s Office said. His truck was possibly seen in the Nacogdoches area later that same day.

Law enforcement officials believe McMillian’s disappearance poses a credible threat to his own health and safety. He is diabetic and showing early signs of dementia, the Sheriff’s Office said.
