Panola County Judge LeeAnn Jones reported six new COVID-19 cases on Monday, as well as two recoveries.

Jones said the county’s active number of cases was 32, the cumulative case total was 276 and recoveries 201. Panola County has recorded 24 deaths.

The new positives were: a 20-year-old woman, a 70-year-old man, a 78-year-old man, a 59-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and a 74-year-old woman.

The recoveries were a 23-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man.

The number of new cases reported by Jones since mid-June has been:

  • June 14: 3 new cases
  • June 16: 2 new cases
  • June 17: 2 new cases
  • June 18: 3 new cases
  • June 22: 3 new cases
  • June 25: 4 new cases
  • June 29: 5 new cases
  • July 2: 3 new cases
  • July 4: 8 new cases
  • July 6: 3 new cases
  • July 9: 3 new cases
  • July 12: 8 new cases
  • July 15: 5 new cases
  • July 20: 14 new cases
  • July 27: 6 new cases

Across the region, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission was reporting Monday morning that 247 people were hospitalized with COVID-19. The area has 23 available ICU beds, 319 available hospital beds and 229 available ventilators.
