Panola County’s active number of COVID-19 cases stood at 21, County Judge LeeAnn Jones said Thursday.

The county recorded two recoveries, Jones said, as well as three additional cases: a 49-year-old man, a 43-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman.

Panola County’s total cumulative number of cases is 241.

The number of new cases has continued to remain steady since mid-June, aside from a slight jump reported over the weekend:

  • June 14: 3 new cases
  • June 16: 2 new cases
  • June 17: 2 new cases
  • June 18: 3 new cases
  • June 22: 3 new cases
  • June 25: 4 new cases
  • June 29: 5 new cases
  • July 2: 3 new cases
  • July 4: 8 new cases
  • July 6: 3 new cases

Across the region, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission was reporting 148 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, up from the 116 hospitalized patients reported on Monday. The area has 90 available ICU beds, 509 available hospital beds and 256 available ventilators.
