Several local nursing homes and hospice groups — Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Center, Winkler Place, Texas Home Health, and Texas Home Health Hospice — have joined together to give back to the community.
Once a quarter, the organizations will be hosting a breakfast for Panola County first responders. The first breakfast was held Thursday, Feb. 13. Ladies from all four groups were there serving up pancakes for those who attended.
This first responders breakfast has been done in the past, but after the recent death of a local deputy, the organizations decided they wanted to do more for the individuals who do so much for the county. First responders from the sheriff’s office, police department, EMS and fire departments are welcome.
The next breakfast will be held in about three months. Those in charge of last breakfast were: Briarcliff Administrator Hollie Adams, Briarcliff Director of Marketing and Administration Shona Guenther, Texas Home Health account executive Janet Ritter, Winkler Place representative MacKenzie Robinson, and Texas Home Health Hospice representatives Rhonda Schur and Shannon Dampier.
