Panola County currently has 41 active COVID-19 cases, County Judge LeeAnn Jones said Tuesday — a decrease from a high of 52 last week.

Jones said the county had recorded 17 new cases and 19 recoveries. The county’s cumulative total is 469.

New positive cases include: a 42-year-old woman, a 77-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman, a 65-year-old woman, a 47-year-old man, a 48-year-old man, a 59-year-old man, a 55-year-old man, an 84-year-old man, a 61-year-old woman, a 31-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, a 76-year-old woman, an 89-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.

New recoveries include a 54-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman, a 51-year-old woman, an 82-year-old man, a 50-year-old man, a 72-year-old man, a 74-year-old woman, a 75-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man, a 59-year-old woman, a 62-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man, a 57-year-old man, a 4-year-old boy, an 81-year-old man, a 72-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man, a 62-year-old man and a 72-year-old man.

Schools

As of Oct. 19, Carthage ISD was reporting 40 total cases since August. The most recent cases were a faculty member at Carthage Primary School who tested positive Oct. 10 and a faculty member at Carthage Junior High School who tested positive Oct. 17.

Beckville ISD has reported a total of 13 cases. The district most recently reported Oct. 26 an eighth-grader had tested positive.

Gary ISD reported Monday that two fifth-graders and a staff member had tested positive.
