The Carthage Fire Department has earned the title of Community Champion for their outstanding support of this year’s MASH Bash Blood Drive, helping bring in 85 units of blood, enough to potentially save up to 255 lives.

The department was the top referral source, with 12 donors citing the CFD as the reason they came out to give. Their outreach and community spirit played a significant role in the event’s success, earning them the coveted Community Champion Trophy.

That trophy was officially presented to CFD on Tuesday, July 22, during a meeting at the department’s training building.

Keri Perot Vance, one of the MASH Bash organizers, said the department helped make this year “awesome,” and thanked not only the firefighters, but everyone who rolled up their sleeves to make a life-saving impact.
